His Final Studio Album. An Unforgettable Farewell.
Released in July 1977 — just weeks before Elvis Presley passed away — Moody Blue stands as his last studio album and one of his most emotionally resonant recordings. It opens with the haunting Unchained Melody, a performance so raw and powerful it became one of the most celebrated recordings of his final years, and closes with a collection of ballads and country-tinged tracks that showcase the full depth of his voice.
Produced by the acclaimed team of Ernst Mikael Jorgensen & Roger Semon, this edition is a carefully curated 19-track collection that captures Elvis at his most vulnerable and most commanding — often in the same breath. For collectors and fans, it’s an essential piece of the Elvis story.

This album has a very special memory attached for my wife and I. In 1977 we were playing the radio and heard "Forever my Darling" for the first time. It was on our third wedding anniversary and we immediately made it "our" song. The other songs are great as well, and J.D. Sumner's bass vocals on "Way on Down" make the speakers shake. We recommend this album to all who enjoy great love songs, fun rock music, and some blues. Our album is on Blue Vinyl. We have had to purchase the CD to continue to enjoy this wonderful album.
