Although he was heavily influenced by his attendance at The First Assembly of God Church in Tupelo and subsequently in Memphis, religious music came to Elvis in many different shapes and forms. As a teen, the King of Rock-n-Roll as we know him would sneak into churches to catch the lively music of a different musical heritage and the embracing congregations and uplifting sounds exposed Elvis to the multiple facets of religious music.

Ultimate Gospel provides a wonderful testament of Elvis's musical excellence and acknowledges the priceless contribution of the talented songwriters, musicians and producers involved.Track Listing:

A friend gave this CD to me and I have enjoyed it immensely. I happen to think that Elvis did some of his best work on gospel music. I grew up with this type of music and have played the piano in church for some 45 years---I am very familiar with all the songs on this CD. If you enjoy gospel and Elvis, you need to purchase this CD !!!

I would say that this is the best single CD of Elvis' Gospel music. It includes all the better known songs and is a good mix of recordings throughout his career. It's nice to listen to when you don't want to hear ALL of his Gospel songs, yet it is complete enough to satisfy anyone.
