I significantly enjoy the gradual creation of all 20 tracks for this Pot Luck session recorded by the King in 1961-62. In my view, these songs represent some of Elvis' finest and most successful material recorded throughout his career. It is my opinion however, that RCA tends to overkill Elvis' recordings by remastering and repackaging the same material. All of Elvis' albums, released during his life time, have been reissued in the classic album series. Recently, these same albums are once again being reissued in what is described by RCA as the complete session series. Customers are given the option of purchasing extended takes of the same material experienced in the classic album releases. It is my perspective that individuals who have purchased all the of classic album series releases, such as myself, will have a limited interest and perspective for the session releases. My recommendation is that RCA should change direction for future remastering and releasing of Elvis' material. My priority for future releases would be to experience the remastering of Elvis' most successful movies and soundtrack albums. An Elvis movie, such as Blue Hawaii, remastered in high definition with master audio surround sound, would represent for me the ultimate Elvis experience more so than the repetition experienced presently with his recordings. I also look forward to experiencing an Elvis movie soundtrack on Blu Ray audio surround sound as an accompaniment to the remastered movie release. I hope my suggestion will be taken to heart by the people at RCA.
