John A.June 3, 2021Finally, FTD has released an exhaustive compilation of these absolutely essential Elvis sessions, and it’s a joy to listen to, from beginning to end. Only a few unreleased tracks, but this set does a useful job of collecting together alternate takes that were previously scattered across multiple releases. Liners are typical for FTD, including fascinating photos of Elvis and the band, document from the era, great discographical and session info, and no essay or commentary by a modern pundit, which, truthfully, is no loss. The outer box s a bit flimsy, but it works. Great release.
