I'm pretty new to the FTD label. The POT LUCk release make me wonder back 50 years when the original album was released. 1960-1962 is probably the best era for the smoothnest in Elvis' voice. He's able to carry so much emotion in the ballads from this era and even in the faster songs, there are traces of tenderness (ex.: Night Rider). I mainly puchased the album because one of my all time favorites by Elvis "I Met Her Today" had several takes presented on the album.

On Elvis Pot Luck I feel he was at the height of his creativity and vocal prowess. Elvis' voice was emoting more heartfelt sentiment that ever before. On "That's Someone You Never Forget" Elvis delivers one of his greatest performances in my opinion. There isn't any filler on Pot Luck which some of Elvis' later work suffered from. A lot of the appeal is how effortless Elvis makes it sound. Lesser known songs like "Something Blue" and "(Such an) Easy Question" are great tunes. The singles and bonus tracks flesh out the original 12 song LP wonderfully. I definitely recommend this disc if your fan of Elvis Presley.
