The album was eventually drawn from his 8:30 p.m. performance and was titled "Elvis As Recorded Live at Madison Square Garden" Elvis' engagement at MSG marked the first time Elvis performed in front of a live audience in New York since appearances in 1956 and 1957 on the Dorsey Brothers, Steven Allen and Ed Sullivan shows. The MSG box office success from Elvis' appearance is further proof that the public had long awaited his return to New York - a fourth show was added on Sunday, June 11, due to the first three shows instantly selling out. This 7" 2-disc release with a 16-page booklet takes a closer look at Elvis' engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton in August, 1972. The first disc is a soundboard recording from the dinner show on August 12, while the second disc features rehearsals from August 4th, 6 hours before the opening night of the engagement. The audio on disc 2 was recorded on a personal tape recorder so the sound quality is below standard, but historical significance more than compensates for its quality. As with "48 HOURS TO MEMPHIS", this release has been prepared by Robert Frieser and Hans Slebos, who once again has done a fabulous job of collecting information and materials for the project. There will be additional information in the next few weeks. "3000 South Paradise Road" provides a unique experience of Elvis rehearsing, 6 hours before the opening night at the Las Vegas Hilton on August 4, 1972. As disc 2 is captured on a personal tape recorder, the sonic quality is below standards, but historical significance more than compensates for its audio limitations. Disc 1 is a soundboard recording.

The new 5" digi pack release, FROM HAWAII TO LAS VEGAS , is a cassette recording of Elvis' January 25 dress rehearsal for his January/February 1973 season at The Las Vegas Hilton. The rough audio quality is more than compensated by the fascinating insight into how Elvis worked in order to create his shows. With little talk, and a lot of music, we are invited to a first row presentation of what he had in mind, and yet he decided to change the repertoire the next day. Among the many songs is "Separate Ways" – rehearsed with and without the orchestra - a song that Elvis chose to never perform in public.
