Next in our classic album series is the 'ON STAGE - FEBRUARY, 1970' album. This 2-disc 7" digipack comes with a 12-page booklet. In addition to the original album the set includes all RCA's recordings from three of the shows.

In 1973, Elvis booked sessions at Memphis' famous Stax Studios, where Booker T. & the MGs, Otis Redding, and numerous other soul stars had recorded hits. Unfortunately, initial efforts to have Elvis work with the Stax stable of musicians yielded few usable tracks, and Elvis soon called in his stage band to finish the sessions. The results can be heard on the albums Good Times, Raised On Rock, and Promised Land. Like most of Elvis' 70s recordings, Promised Land is an eclectic mix reflecting Elvis' many musical enthusiasms. The ten songs that make up this album run the gamut from country heartbreak songs ('There's a Honky Tonk Angel', 'Mr. Songman') to carnal white funk ('If You Talk in Your Sleep') to heartfelt gospel ('Help Me') to schmaltzy pop ('Love Song of the Year', 'It's Midnight'). While the performances on Promised Land are uniformly excellent, the material is a mixed bag of strong material and throwaways. This is a 2-disc 5" version of the original 'OUR MEMORIES OF ELVIS' albums, with an added bonus of the previously unreleased volume 3 LP master tape, as well as six more cuts that series producer Joan Deary had prepared at the time. Includes a 12-page booklet of memorabilia and photos.

Elvis' excellent first Christmas album, Elvis' Christmas Album, looms so large in the public psyche that it is hard to fairly judge this album but taken on its own terms, Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas is a fine collection that would be a welcome addition to any Elvis fan's stocking. Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas includes a number of seasonal standards ('O Come, All Ye Faithful', 'The First Noel', and 'Winter Wonderland') as well as such newer songs as 'On a Snowy Christmas Night' and the title track. The highlights of the album are a gritty six minute version of Charles Brown's hit 'Merry Christmas Baby' and the version of 'Blue Christmas' Elvis performed on his comeback television special.

"How Great Thou Art" is a 2-Disc Set in the Classic Album series. Originally released in 1967, it was Elvis' second Gospel album. The original album featured a collection of thirteen sacred songs including the hit single “Crying in the Chapel”. In addition to the masters, it features many great outtakes.
