Elvis Southern Nights FTD CD
[+] enlarge image

The FTD release "Southern Nights" is a live compilation from the Spring Tours of 1975 and a companion set to "Dixieland Rocks". "Southern Nights" is a soundboard recordings, meaning a recording at shows with semiprofessional equipment. There are several flaws on the original source tapes. "Southern Nights" shows just how vast Elvis’s repertoire was at that time, with 19 songs not featured on "Dixieland Rocks".

Elvis - Spring Tours 77 FTD CD
The producers were pleasantly surprised, as this material was finally located and catalogued. Recorded on a 4-track machine, the sound is definitely superior to the usual soundboard standard, and Elvis' performance is much better than the general expectations. As only selected songs were recorded, this CD does not attempt to be a concert. We hope that somewhat unusual sequence is going to present a refreshingly different live CD. Elvis - Dixieland Rocks FTD CD
This Follow That Dreams Records release Dixieland Rocks is a soundboard recording from Elvis concerts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on May 6 & 7, 1975. Word from FTD is that it was a brilliant show and the technical quality of the recording is about the best you'll ever hear from an informal soundboard recording. This 1975 concert is an appropriate follow-up to the most recent FTD release 6363 Sunset, which focused on material from 1972 with a partial spotlight on 1975. Tracks 1-18 Recorded at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro May 6, 1975. Tracks 19-24 recorded the following night at the same location. The tracks from May 7 were used, as the ending of the show was missing the on the May 6 tape. Digital engineer: Lene Reidel at Tocano. Click here for more about the FTD Music Label.
