Elvis - Dixieland Rocks FTD CD
[+] enlarge image

This Follow That Dreams Records release Dixieland Rocks is a soundboard recording from Elvis concerts in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on May 6 & 7, 1975. Word from FTD is that it was a brilliant show and the technical quality of the recording is about the best you'll ever hear from an informal soundboard recording.

This 1975 concert is an appropriate follow-up to the most recent FTD release 6363 Sunset, which focused on material from 1972 with a partial spotlight on 1975.

Tracks 1-18 Recorded at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro May 6, 1975. Tracks 19-24 recorded the following night at the same location. The tracks from May 7 were used, as the ending of the show was missing the on the May 6 tape.

Digital engineer: Lene Reidel at Tocano.

Stephie (7/30/2009)

By the time he did this spring tour of 1975, Elvis was getting bored with "American Trilogy". However, he does a nice performance of it here and this album is a terrific show!

Steven Naylor (3/25/2009)

I give this FTD 5 stars. An excellent performance...Elvis will blow you away with great versions of Let Me Be There, T-R-O-U-B-L-E, and American Trilogy. Definitely worth getting, a great concert of '75.

Hans Ziegler (2/13/2009)

Elvis - Dinner at Eight - A 1975 Vegas Recording FTD CD
The 19th release from the Follow That Dream series. This time, we were lucky to find, in private possession, a tape of Elvis' dinner show in Las Vegas on December 13, 1975. Different to most of what we call soundboards, this concert was recorded on a reel-to-reel tape, not the usual cassette. The show is still in mono though, and there are a few tape problems along the way, but in general sounds good. Click here for more about the FTD Music Label.

Elvis - Spring Tours 77 FTD CD
The producers were pleasantly surprised, as this material was finally located and catalogued. Recorded on a 4-track machine, the sound is definitely superior to the usual soundboard standard, and Elvis' performance is much better than the general expectations. As only selected songs were recorded, this CD does not attempt to be a concert. We hope that somewhat unusual sequence is going to present a refreshingly different live CD.
