  • Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis Legacy Edition 2-CD Set
    Item #: EPCD249
RCA Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of "Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis" with an expanded 2-CD release of the monumental concert experience featuring tracks left off the original album (because of the spatial limitations of vinyl), plus a wealth of previously unreleased material.

Disc 2 of the newly remastered expanded "Legacy Edition of Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis" presents, for the first time, a recently located recording of Elvis' complete concert "test-run" held for an ecstatic live audience on March 18, 1974, two days before his historic concert return to Memphis, where he'd last played live in 1957. The remarkable "test-run" performance was recorded in MONO, drenched in the reverb Elvis preferred, and provides new insight into the magic of Elvis.

  • Elvis Country Legacy Edition 2-CD Set
    Item #: EPCD214
Elvis Country, originally released in January 1971, received critical acclaim upon release. In a review for Rolling Stone, historian Peter Guralnick said; "... Elvis Presley has come out with a record which gives us some of the very finest and most affecting music since he first recorded for Sun almost 17 years ago." But it's the singing, the passion and engagement most of all which mark this album as something truly exceptional. All the familiar virtues are there. The intensity. That peculiar combination of hypertension and soul. There is even a frenzied recollection of what the rock era once was, as Elvis takes on Jerry Lee Lewis' masterful "Whole Lotta Shakin'" and comes out relatively unscathed. In short - he has never sung better.

This Legacy Edition of Elvis Country is coupled with Elvis' follow-up studio album from June 1971, Love Letters From Elvis which contains songs recorded at the Elvis Country sessions including; "The Sound Of Your Cry" and "Life" (Billboard #53).

  • Elvis Presley: Legacy Edition 2 CD Set
    Item #: EPCD208
The recorded legacy of Elvis Presley continues to be discovered by new generations that never saw him or heard him perform live. It's hard to appreciate that he started so much of what we take for granted now in popular music. Until 1956, the teenagers of suburban America, and the rest of the world, had to endure ditties by Rosemary Clooney and Perry Como but everything was about to be tossed upside down. On January 28 on a cold night in New York, Elvis took America by storm as he appeared on CBS-TV's Stage Show hosted by Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey. On February 4 for his second appearance he sang a song that literally changed the world of popular music "Heartbreak Hotel". Its unique sound and style literally blew everything before it away while at the same time inducing the blueprint for everything that was to come; by April, it would be #1 on Billboard. This incredible step-change in musical history resonated around the world and while liberating millions of young adolescent teenagers it also inspired many successful artists of today to pick a guitar or sing - everyone wanted to be like Elvis. The pure spontaneity of these seminal recordings shows through even today; "Heartbreak Hotel", Don't Be Cruel", "Hound Dog", "Blue Suede Shoes" and "My Baby Left Me" are some of the greatest rock 'n' roll records ever made. Elvis' unprecedented level of achievement is still the benchmark by which artistic success is measured today and YOUNG MAN WITH THE BIG BEAT is testament to the phenomenon and cultural icon that is Elvis Presley.

  • Elvis is Back! Legacy Edition 2-CD Set
    Item #: EPCD201
It is argued by many that Elvis Is Back is possibly the best album Elvis ever recorded. During his two years in the army, Elvis had spent what spare time he had expanding his vocal range and improving his technique. Combined with a challenging and diverse repertoire, a new band of Nashville session aces, and improved three-track recording technology, it was an almost completely new Elvis who emerged in April of 1960. Recorded over just two nights, the sessions produced not only the twelve album tracks, but also six tracks for single release, including three #1 singles: all-time classics "Its Now Or Never," "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and "Stuck On You."

While the follow-up album Something For Everybody has not historically received the same reverence, Elvis' voice on that LP may have been even better than it was the year before - possibly the best of his career. These recordings burst with an impact that is immediate - no surprise, considering the album was recorded in only one night. The bonus singles, which include the #1 hits "(Marie's The Name) His Latest Flame" and "Good Luck Charm" as well as the classic "Little Sister," were also cut in just two additional sessions.

In the mold of recent 2-CD Legacy Editions of the classic albums From Elvis In Memphis and On Stage, Elvis Is Back (Legacy Edition) is the definitive version of one of Elvis' most essential albums, expanded to include another historically significant album from the time period and the hit singles associated with both albums.

Legacy Recordings is proud to announce the release of Elvis 75 - Good Rockin' Tonight, the ultimate career-spanning collection of seminal recordings by Elvis Presley, in commemoration of the King of Rock & Roll's 75th birthday (January 8, 2010).

The first major Elvis Presley retrospective to cover the full spectrum of the artist's world-changing career, Elvis 75 runs from "My Happiness," the acetate Elvis himself paid nearly four dollars to record at the Memphis Recording Service on July 18, 1953, a year before signing with Sun Records, to "A Little Less Conversation (JXL Radio Remix Edit)," a posthumous #1 hit for Elvis in the UK, Australia and more than 20 other countries in 2002.

Offering fans an unprecedented range of essential material, Elvis 75 provides a generous selection of the electrifying earth-shattering primal rock & roll of young Elvis; the swinging good vibes of Elvis's soundtrack recordings; the heartfelt humility of his gospel performances and the intimacy of his ballads; the pure pop power and show biz magic of Elvis in Vegas; and a record-setting number of #1 and Top 10 international smashes.

The lavish Elvis 75 box set includes an 80-page booklet featuring many rare photographs and a new essay by musical and cultural critic Billy Altman (Rolling Stone, The New Yorker).
